This month our invited speaker will be Kathleen Reed. Her topic is:
"Why Y-DNA for German Research?"
This presentation will explore how DNA can be used to make connections, with an emphasis on connections between Germans and their American descendants. We will discuss why the use of Y-DNA may be a better choice than using autosomal DNA to identify connections between descendants separated by several generations. We will also discuss a German Y-DNA group housed on the Family Tree DNA site and an additional German Connections group that allows users to upload and compare autosomal DNA results.
