The San Diego Genealogical Society library, with its extensive collection, is one of the major genealogical research locations in San Diego County, California. Housed in approximately 2,100 square feet, the SDGS library is located at 7343 Ronson Road, Suite O in San Diego. Wireless internet and computers with internet access are available for patron use.
Unlimited access to the SDGS genealogical research library is a benefit of Society membership. Librarians and volunteer docents are available Thursdays (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.) to assist members.

The Library is staffed and open to the public on most Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Visitors who are not members of the Society are encouraged to make a donation for their day use of the library. A five dollar minimum is suggested.
The SDGS library's genealogical research collection consists of more than 10,000 titles. Many are multi-volume sets (for example, the 130 volume War of the Rebellion: A Compilation of the Official Records Union and Confederate Armies). The library holds more than 1,000 periodical titles. There are significant holdings of many major genealogical periodicals (for example, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register in bound volumes from 1923 to the present, as well as Volumes 1 (1847) through 148 (1994) on CD with a complete index). The collection also contains quite a number of 'how to' books and periodicals to help expand and improve your research skills and results. Access the SDGS library catalog of holdings through this website.
Take advantage of the substantial resources of the San Diego Genealogical Society's library to further your genealogical discovery.
